Chevron HPC II
The HVAC system consists of multiple building pumping systems, variable volume air distribution, outside air and relief air riser pressurization control, demand control ventilation and other various other types of airside distribution equipment. There are approximately 1,800 ALC control modules and over 8,000 control points. During the course of the project it became a priority of Chevron to obtain LEED certification which required modifications to the BAS including zone level C02 monitoring for each floor and intricate control strategies for the outside air and exhaust air at each floor level in relation to CFM offsets. This facility also has the Environmental Index (EI) grading system developed by Automated Logic – UES. The EI, expressed as a percentage, reflects how close the zone temperature is to the effective heating and cooling setpoints allowing Facility Managers an effective and quick means of identifying operational problems, and manger energy conservation measure to ensure sustainable performance.
