IT Technician

Scope

The basic function of the IT Technician is to support and maintain in-house and project related computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required. 

Duties

    

 

  • Enforce and adhere to the codes of the company's Business Code of Conduct.
  • Prepare Customer BAS Servers.
  • Prepare Employee computer equipment.
  • Install, upgrade, software programs on employee and customer workstations.
  • Ensure all workstation software (OS, Applications, Antivirus) are up to date with preapproved updates and patches.  
  • Conduct various preventative maintenance audits of office hardware, assisting in the troubleshooting and resolution of any system failures.
  • Provide technical support (in person and on the telephone) for network, computer hardware, computer software, printers and fax machines for home office and remote offices.
  • Create and update procedures on tasks relating to the duties of this position.  Procedures should be reviewed (and if necessary re-written) on a yearly basis.

  • That duties are completed on schedule and budget.

 

  • To the degree that s/he is able to address issues forwarded by the IT Network Specialist

 

Qualifications

 

  • Computer hardware/software experience.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
