LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, which is an independent body with its headquarters in the United States of America. It is an acknowledged authority on the various aspects of building and construction technologies. It sets new parameters and benchmarks for the building and construction industry in order to develop sustainable and environment friendly buildings.
If you are interested in a LEED certification, then enroll yourself into a LEED Certification Canada training program which offers courses as designed and approved by the USCBG or the United States Green Building Council. Successful completion of the course will make you eligible for the LEED exam designed by the GBCI or the Green Building Certification Institute. There are many institutes and colleges that offer these certification programs. These programs are designed to enhance the knowledge levels of the students and professionals regarding the various aspects of the green building processes.
The LEED Certification Canada process involves three levels, comprising of LEED Green Associate, LEED Exam AP and LEED Fellow. Each level requires certain levels of understanding and knowledge of the various green building initiatives and practices. Apart from these regular programs, a candidate has to master at least one of these specialization programs like Operation & Maintenance, Design & Construction, Home Building, Interior Design and Neighborhood Development.
