Scope
Position Summary
The business analyst is a strategic partner to the general manager and, as part of the local management team, will offer counsel, support and leadership on financial matters that impact the organization. This position is the primary contact for Automated Logic Finance on all financial planning, analysis and internal controls matters.
Duties
Internal Controls
- Support corporate commitment to internal controls compliance programs. This includes preparing for and participating in annual Accounting and Control Assessments (“ACA”), preparing the annual internal gap SOX self-assessment and responding timely and accurately to any requests to update tracking tools or provide additional information.
- Manage all location accounting activities
- Analyze accounts – opportunities to maximize profits
- Analyze accounts – opportunities to accelerate cash flow
- CAR preparation – build business case for capital expenditure/prepare exec summary for ALC review
- Review WIP report with operations – consider loss contracts / ETC updates / ask about whether projects can be closed / analyze for slow moving or projects with profit fade
- Review billing and collections procedures with operations group. Ensure escalation processes are being followed. Review aging reports with appropriate ops manager(s) – e.g. Top 5, project qtrbk
- Review financial statements and detail reports (e.g., AR/AP aging) with management. GM sign off on statements, FA verify that HFM reconciles to internal statements
- All accounts reconciled monthly. Reviewed and approved
- Coordinate annual physical inventory
- Assess impairment of fixed assets – annually
- All processes documented (SOX/ACE)
- Coordinate sales/use tax processes. Maintain appropriate documentation
