Application Engineer

Scope
Designs and drafts complete Building Automation System.
Duties
- Reviews and discusses project with Project Manager and Sales Engineer for scope of project and design requirements.
- Designs and drafts engineered drawings of building network, along with system electrical and digital devices that will meet the design requirements.
- Generates Bill of Material, Sequence of Operations, Valve and Damper Schedules, Control Drawings, and any other submittal documents required.
- Generates Requests for Further Information to clarify design and installation requirements.
- Coordinates design information with engineers and contractors to properly size and locate control instruments. This can include attending meetings with customers out of the office.
- Obtains necessary approvals for system design.
- Confers with Installation Contractor to resolve problems regarding installation of control system. This can include visits to construction sites.
- Provides necessary start-up, checkout, and commissioning information to field group to help assist
- Confers with ALC Field personnel to discuss design problems and resolutions.
- Revises engineered drawings to reflect actual installation as necessary.
- Perform other duties as directed by Application Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Company Policies and Procedures
- Knowledge of Electrical Circuitry
- Skill in operating equipment – such as a computer, digital voltmeter
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to communicate effectively with external customers
- Ability to communicate effectively within company
- Must have a valid drivers license and available means of transportation
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or General Engineering.
