The Automation Controls technician is responsible for installation start-up and commissioning of building HVAC automation and control systems. The technician may also respond to service requests as assigned by the Service Management group and is expected to maintain positive customer relationships.
Commission DDC, front-end workstations and servers, electric and pneumatic controls under the supervision of a project PM.
Ability to use installation or as-built drawings and documentation where possible to troubleshoot systems.
Efficiently communicate status of open issues with Operations Management group or Project Engineer.
Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company team of managers, engineers and technicians, the client and consulting engineers.
Perform all assigned preventative maintenance, repair and emergency service calls.
Maintain personal accessibility through mobile phone and email and return calls in a timely fashion.
Willingness to travel.
Submit completed work orders, time and expense sheets in a timely manner to the Operations Management group.
Minimum 3-5 years field experience in the HVAC controls industry including DDC Systems commissioning, software integration operation, calibration and experience with pneumatic controls.
Knowledge of Automated Logic commissioning tools and field circuit debugging skills.
Understanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical fields.
Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills.
Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, WebCTRL, Autocad, various operating systems.
Proven track record of completing jobs on schedule, while achieving full customer satisfaction.
