Scope
The ALC IT Manager supports the goals of ALC by managing the leads of the project team, compliance team and services team. The IT Manager is responsible for managing the priorities of the ALC IT department. The IT Manager directly reports to the ALC Chief Financial Officer and functionally reports to the IT leadership of the broader corporation.
Duties
- Manage the ALC IT team including mentoring, career path planning, and developing training plans. Recruit, hire and integrate new team members to effectively function within ALC and the IT team. Ensure that adequate resources are in place to support ALC priorities using efficient and effective procedures.
- Support ALC goals and strategies by developing and implementing plans that align the ALC IT department with the direction of the company.
- Support corporate goals and strategies by developing and implementing plans that align the ALC IT department with the direction of the corporation, including initiatives to leverage common systems, platforms and processes.
- Ensure adaptation of ACE as the primary operating system for ALC IT processes. This includes ensuring that continuous improvement in ACE metrics is always a component in ALC IT processes and plans.
- Ensure ALC IT systems and personnel are compliant with UTC IT and business policies, procedures and standards, including ensuring that only the highest business practices and ethics are maintained within the ALC IT department.
- Manage crisis situations related to the ALC IT department, systems, and personnel. Ensure that adequate staff or external resources are available to respond in a timely manner.
- Define gaps in the skills matrix for the department and developing a plan of action to eliminate any skills gaps.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the corporation as required.
- Development and administer the ALC IT budget.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading and motivating teams, including coaching and mentoring skills for the assessment and development of IT personnel
- Effective time management, scheduling, and organization skills
- Effective verbal and written communications with customers, peers and team members
- Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience
- Directly related experience in IT systems and services (10 years)
- Experience managing IT personnel (5 years)
