Scope

The service sales representative is responsible for pursuing owner direct service based opportunities.  This individual should be a leader in the sales and service departments, embracing and personifying the culture of ALC-HOUSTON.  The service sales representative is expected to be aggressive, and energetic, in the development of new business, and new clients.

Duties

Financial Performance:  Meet required sales volume and sales margin quotas.  Minimize risk and maintain the lowest estimated cost. 

Control Service Contracts: Responsible for selling new building automation system/control service contracts.  Involved in the renewal process of existing contracts with a focus on renewing, and growing, the current scope and value.

Customer Retention:  Develop and follow a customer retention plan.  Call on customers and develop a long-term personal relationship by meeting on a regular schedule.  Make the customer feel like a part of the ALC-HOUSTON family.  Maintain involvement in the contract renewal process.

Management of Online Parts Program:  Manage and grow existing online parts center

Create VFD Business:  Generate new Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) business

Create HVAC Retrofit & Service Opportunities:  Assist with in-house Mechanical growth.  Be active in Mechanical and Operation Associations and attend their meetings.  Discuss new products and offerings with customers.  This position is responsible for working with new clients & developing HVAC retrofit projects to include the development of solutions, scope, estimate, and proposal.  Collaborate with service manager to develop a process to grow demand service work.

Sales Skills:  Have the ability to recognize an opportunity and to deliver a professional sales presentation.  Have the ability to create a solution and to close the sale through the capacity to understand and control the customer’s needs. 

Communication/Documentation:  Provide clear documentation on estimate and backup support for quotes.  Document deviations from specification.  Prepare bid proposals and packages.  Encourage positive communication between members of the sales team.  Assist in finding solutions for the good of the company.

Professional Presentation:  Maintain a professional presentation in both appearance and written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

All of the below or a combination thereof:

 

High school diploma or equivalent required; Certification, trade school, or some college preferred

5-7 years of mechanical industry experience

Moderate degree of computer skills in Microsoft office modules

Ability to work as part of a team

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
