Scope

Basic Function:

Automated Logic is looking for a Technology Project Manager with a combination of strong finance and functional Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation experience to join the Branch Operations team.  The successful candidate will also have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative leadership style, and experience facilitating group sessions.  The Project Manager will act as the chief liaison for all project stakeholders, managing stakeholder expectations while balancing the competing constraints of scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and resource availability throughout the project lifecycle.  The initial assignment will be to manage the development and implementation of MS Dynamics SL for the Branch Operations organization.  Future projects may include implementation and upgrades of systems and processes associated with the MSD-SL such as the OnBase Content Management System, Project Estimating Tool, Revenue/Manpower Forecasting Tool, Incentive Calculator Tool, Shared Services and the CRM.  

 

Reporting to the head of VP of Operations for ALC Branches, key responsibilities include the identification and alignment of stakeholder expectations, production of internal deliverables (e.g. budget, Project Plan, documented processes, etc.), adherence to applicable policies and procedures, and ultimate delivery of the project solution “on-schedule and on-budget” while managing multiple projects simultaneously.   Majority of projects are internal and range from technical (e.g. software product development & systems alignment) to non-technical (implementation of corporate initiatives).  The Project Manager will be expected to be a visionary in the area of process improvements to help create a more efficient and transparent organization.

Duties

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will generally focus on one or more of the following:

Overseeing project execution through Automated Logic’s Passport process (stage gated review process) by:

  • Complete projects on time, within budget, and with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.  This will be accomplished by monitoring and controlling scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and dependencies.
  • Working closely with all departments in HQ, branches and all levels of management and functional leads within the organization to facilitate project activities and commitments.
  • Meeting with employees, account executives and subject matter experts to discover and document project objectives and to completely understand overall project requirements.
  • Developing and managing medium to large project plans, including developing budgets, schedules, resource and timing requirements and setting priorities for project activities.
  • Facilitating team status meetings.
  • Manage the outside consultants and internal resources such as a Technical Writer and a Report Writer to meet project goals and milestones.
  • Providing strong technical project management leadership.
  • Train end users in process and data changes.
  • Manage Change Management as necessary for project success.
  • Escalating project issues up through the Project Management Office (PMO) as required.
  • Measuring and report on various key performance indicators and the overall health of the project.
  • Acting as program point of contact with the consulting firms and strategic partners that are helping, developing or co-developing products or processes for Automated Logic.

 

Establishing a program management maturity model that aligns with Automated Logic’s operating system ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence) by:

  • Working for Branch Operations and with the PMO as they establish and execute common processes and tools for projects to ensure consistent data collection, coordination and reporting.
  • Proactively identifying process improvements and working with the team to drive implementation that will lead to smoother program/project execution.  This includes facilitating post-mortems on program activities and applying lessons learned to enhance processes.
  • Serving as an influential leader by demonstrating PM professionalism, passion/enthusiasm, and establishing an environment of teamwork and collaboration.

Qualifications

Skill and Educational Requirements:

  • Significant ERP implementation experience is a must. 
  • Must communicate clearly and effectively in both directions—sending and receiving.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills that rely on high-trust relationships and informal authority to influence others.
  • Experience with Change Management and Communication methods.
  • Must be able to prepare for and effectively facilitate project meetings, presentations, and requirements development sessions.
  • BA/BS degree w/5+ years of experience in the management of technology projects (software and electronic hardware). 
  • Experience in a construction financial environment is a plus.
  • PMP/PgMP certification is desired but not required.
  • Familiarity with United Technologies’ Passport process is a plus.
  • Strong familiarity with MS office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and program management tools like MS Project is essential.
