Automated Logic Recognizes Top Distribution Offices

ATLANTA - Jul. 10, 2009 - Automated Logic Corporation, a leading manufacturer of innovative building control solutions, recently honored its top distribution offices at its Annual Meeting in Atlanta. The awards presented were based on superior field performance, sustained yearly growth, reputation in the market, and willingness to learn and develop.

“One of the most important reasons we get together is to recognize accomplishments from the past year”, said Lauren Kolb, president of Automated Logic. “Our owned and independent field offices are all doing the right things to be successful—growing their business by taking care of their customers and employees, and making us proud they're part of our ALC family.”

The top Dealer of the Year award was presented to T.A.C. Controls and Automation located in Concord, Ontario. During the 17 years T.A.C. has been an ALC dealer, they have proven to be a world-class organization dedicated to high ethical standards and values. T.A.C. is known in the industry for their expert design and installation services, dedication to best practices, and long lasting customer relationships.

T.A.C. also received one of the two Project of the Year awards presented this year for the Toronto City Centre Project. This 18 acre site consists of four buildings totaling 800,000 square feet and was planned as a showpiece for existing tenants and the world headquarters of Morguard Investments, one of Canada’s largest real estate companies. After a major infrastructure upgrade and controls integration that dramatically improved energy efficiency and occupant comfort, the facility received the “Go Green” certification awarded by the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA Canada). This certification is generally equivalent to LEED – EB certification.

InterCon Automation located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was also awarded the Top Project award for the Rachael Carson Building, home to the Pennsylvania Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Conservation and Natural Resources (CNR). After a recommendation from an energy consulting company, the state contracted with InterCon to replace the existing building automation system with a new Automated Logic system. After the installation, this 17 floor 1,443,580 square foot facility achieved an ENERGY STAR rating of 87 and is currently being evaluated for LEED Gold status.

Automated Logic – United Environmental Services, located in Pasadena, Texas, won the Top Sales Award honors for their outstanding performance during 2008. A major reason for their successful year was their strong ability to work together as a team. This award is truly an indication of the superior efforts every department puts forth at ALC-UES. A key project that contributed to their successful year was a large lighting integration and retrofit for Fluor Corporation in Sugar Land, Texas. In addition to substantially reducing energy consumption and improving lighting levels, ALC - UES also acted as a project sponsor for Fluor Corporation with the Center Point Energy Standard Offering program netting them $267,000 in rebates for the work.

The Rookie of the Year award was presented to Hayashi, located in Monterrey, Mexico. Since becoming a dealer in January 2008, Hayashi has achieved great momentum and exceeded expectations with immediate sales and a broad-based customer list including Grainger, Whirlpool, Sanyo, Rockwell Automation, Tropicana Manufacturing, and Paseo Reforma among others. Hayashi has solid growth plans in place to continue this momentum to the coming year.
