MASTER'S TRANSPORTATION

The Players

Master's Transportation set out to create a reliable, energy‑efficient environmental control system for its new 330,000‑square‑foot vehicle manufacturing facility. As a mission‑critical operation producing buses for airports, schools, and municipalities, the facility required consistent temperature control to support manufacturing processes, employee comfort, sustainability goals, and long‑term operational efficiency.

The Solution

Control Service Company (CSC), the authorized Automated Logic dealer in Kansas City, MO, partnered with Master's Transportation to design and implement a WebCTRL building automation system that integrates heat pumps, rooftop units, geothermal pumps, and fresh air systems. Custom control logic was developed to manage the large‑scale geothermal system—still relatively new at this size—ensuring all components work together efficiently. More than 100 individual modules were unified under a single, intuitive interface, giving the customer real‑time visibility into system performance, temperature setpoints, and preventative maintenance needs.

The Challenge: Large‑Scale Manufacturing Environment: Maintaining precise, consistent temperature control across a 330,000‑square‑foot facility was critical to support production processes, employee comfort, and material performance.

Complex Geothermal Implementation: Integrating a large‑scale geothermal system required custom controls to coordinate multiple HVAC components using specialized logic.

System Unification & Visibility: Two separate buildings and over 100 control modules needed to be unified into a single, intuitive system for real‑time visibility and efficient operations.
