VALMEYER SCHOOLS
Valmeyer Community Unit School District 3, located in Monroe County, Illinois, serves the village of Valmeyer and nearby areas. It consists of three schools: Valmeyer Elementary (PK-5), Valmeyer Junior High (6-8), and Valmeyer High School (9-12), and has approximately 365 students and 40 staff.
Valmeyer School District faced challenges with its outdated 25-year-old building automation system, needing an upgrade for better efficiency, reliability, and climate control. Moving the system to the cloud was crucial for easier maintenance and enhanced security. The old system struggled with temperature and air quality management, affecting comfort and learning. To tackle these issues and improve the educational environment, they turned to their local Automated Logic (ALC) dealer, Automatic Controls, for a modern solution offering real-time monitoring and adjustments.
Automatic Controls, the authorized Automated Logic dealer serving Valmeyer, Illinois, initially equipped Valmeyer Schools with a tailored building automation system by installing an on-premise WebCTRL® building automation server. The WebCTRL system was designed to meet the district’s specific needs and provided efficient, centralized facility management for the school district from any mobile device or desktop computer.
When WebCTRL Cloud became available a few months later, the district transitioned seamlessly to the new cloud-based platform without any downtime. This move enhanced user experience and security while reducing the school’s IT burden by eliminating on-site server maintenance.
The WebCTRL Cloud system now offers anytime, anywhere access for facilities staff, helping them enhance the learning environment at Valmeyer Schools. By optimizing temperature and air quality, it helps foster student focus and engagement, essential for effective learning. Consistent comfort reduces distractions, promoting stability and better performance, highlighting the vital role of building automation in improving educational environments.
Automated Logic is now responsible for overseeing the connection, security, and maintenance of Valmeyer’s WebCTRL Cloud server, enabling the district to focus on their educational priorities. The WebCTRL Cloud system receives daily backups and automatic updates, ensuring security and reliability. Additionally, Automatic Controls provides ongoing local support to address any of Valmeyer’s building automation needs.
