KENNESAW, GA., Mar. 15, 2021 — Automated Logic’s latest OptiFlex™ controllers for the WebCTRL® building automation system help provide comfort, control, and energy savings today, while also supporting the control networks of tomorrow. The new controllers are the latest addition to the OptiFlex family, Automated Logic’s current generation of flexible, scalable building controls. The new OptiFlex controllers are available in two different models - Advanced Application controllers and Advanced Equipment controllers. Both models include Ethernet, serial, and USB ports for easy network connectivity. They are ideal for room and equipment control applications, and include on-board input/output (I/O) points for connection to heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment such as rooftop units, fan coil units, chilled beams, exhaust fans, unit vents, air curtains and variable air volume (VAV) boxes. A library of standard control programs is also available for a variety of applications, helping to improve indoor air quality, increase occupant comfort and reduce energy consumption.
In addition to the above features, the Advanced Equipment controllers also provide increased point capacity. Point expansion modules can be used to add more physical I/O, while integration capabilities pull in data from devices such as variable frequency drives (VFDs), electric meters and lighting systems.

The OptiFlex product line was built for connectivity. Multiple IP network topologies are supported, including daisy chain, ring, home run and hybrid. Dual IP ports help ensure network redundancy using fail-safe and self-healing mechanisms. A simple software update will enable future communication protocols such as IPv6, BACnet Secure Connect, and wireless, reinforcing Automated Logic’s commitment to support the latest industry standards.
The new OptiFlex Advanced Application and Advanced Equipment controllers have been tested and certified by BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL). They meet the BACnet Advanced Application controllers (B-AAC) and BACnet Broadcast Management Device (B-BBMD) device profiles. They can be used on new projects and are also backwards compatible with legacy ALC systems, making retrofits quick and easy.
The Advanced Equipment controllers are available for order today, while the Advanced Application controllers will be available for order in April. Shipments for both will be starting in the second quarter of 2021.
